Music to Level Up Your Day: Ōkamiden

I don't know much about musical theory, nor am I a musically inclined person. However, I do love to listen to video game soundtracks. Who doesn't? They can be a powerful listening experience in their own right, or be as evocative as the scores composed for film. Each of these posts will feature music tracks from a single game title, or series/franchise in some rare cases.

Composer: Rei Kondo

North American Release Date: October 2011

The story centers around the adventures of Chibiterasu, the son of Amaterasu, and the children of characters from Ōkami. They are a "young form of existence" and lack power, but try their best to keep evil from reclaiming the land.

Like it's predecessor, Ōkamiden's soundtrack is inspired by classical Japanese music, re-working several of the original tracks from the first title. The official soundtrack contains 67 full instrumental tracks, which had to be downgraded in quality for the Ōkamiden game due to the size constraints of the Nintendo DS cartridge.
